Belt drive

The main advantages of belt transmission: ① cushioning and vibration absorption, stable transmission and low noise; ② belt transmission is driven by friction, and slippage between the contact surface of the belt and the pulley during overload can prevent damage to other parts; ③ is suitable for the central moment of two shafts Larger occasions; ④ The structure is simple, manufacturing, installation and maintenance are more convenient, and the cost is low.

Disadvantages of belt transmission: ① can not guarantee the accurate transmission ratio; ② requires a larger tension, which increases the stress of the shaft and the bearing; ③ the overall size of the entire transmission device is large and not compact; ④ the life of the belt Shorter, lower transmission efficiency.

In view of the above characteristics, the belt drive is mainly suitable for: ① High-speed occasions, mostly used for the first-stage transmission of the prime mover output. ②Small and medium power transmission, usually no more than 50 kw. ③ The transmission ratio generally does not exceed 7, and the maximum is 10. ④ The transmission ratio is not required to be very accurate.

Chain drive

The chain transmission has some characteristics of belt transmission and meshing transmission. Its advantages are: the chain transmission has no elastic sliding and slipping, and can maintain an accurate average transmission ratio; the transmission size is relatively compact; it does not require a lot of tension and acts on the shaft. The load is small; the bearing capacity is large; the efficiency is high (η = 0.95 ~ 0.98). At the same time; chain drive can absorb vibration and mitigate impact, simple structure, low processing cost, low installation accuracy requirements, suitable for transmission with large center distance, and can work in harsh environments with high temperature, high humidity and heavy oil pollution.

The disadvantages of the chain drive are: it is not stable enough at high speeds; there are shocks and noise in the drive; it is not suitable for use in drives with large load changes and rapid reverse rotation; it can only be used for drives between parallel shafts; High transmission.

Applicable occasions of chain transmission: widely used in transmission with large center distance, multi-axis, and average transmission ratio requirements. The chain drive can be used in the harsh environment of open transmission, low-speed heavy-duty transmission and well-lubricated high-speed transmission. The power transmitted by the roller chain is usually below 100kw, the chain speed is below 15m / s, and the transmission ratio I <= 7. At present, the maximum transmission power can reach 500kw, and the maximum center distance can reach 8m.
